South Korean singer Minzy Kong has found a new agency to start her music career afresh after quitting girl group band 2NE1, The 22-year-old singer was part of YG Entertainment's 2NE1 until May 5.
As per an insider report on Sports Donga, the singer has zeroed in on 'Music Works' for an exclusive contract after having discussions with many other agencies. Although nothing has been officially announced, the source told the media outlet: "The contract hasn't been signed yet but it seems like [she] has made Music Works [her] decision."
In reference to the rumours swirling around, the entertainment agency released an official statement asserting that the company is still in talks with the singer and no contract has been initiated..
"It's true that we recently met with Minzy to discuss an exclusive contract, but a contract has yet to be officially signed," Music Works stated.
Meanwhile, the news of Minzy's departure from 2NE1 came to light last month. Reportedly, the mandopop artist refused to renew her contract with her previous agency and decided to part ways.
The singer has also released an official statement on her social media explaining her side and apologizing to her fans for leaving the band.
