How to jailbreak iOS 9.2 - 9.3.3 semi-untethered using Pangu

Comprehensive guide to jailbreak iOS 9.3.3 semi-untethered or without a computer using Pangu.

Prolific jailbreak-developer team 'Pangu' has recently rolled out the semi-untethered jailbreak tool with support for 64-bit iOS devices on Windows platform. Mac users can either use a Bootcamp or a virtual machine runnins Windows to jailbreak your device.

As the iOS 9.3.3 Pangu jailbreak is semi-untethered, you need to run the tool every time you reboot your iPhone or iPad in order to use Cydia apps or tweaks. This jailbreak works similar to the tethered versions which we have seen in the past, but you won't need a computer.

Check out the complete list of supported iOS devices with Pangu iOS 9.3.3 jailbreak below:

iPhone: iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone SE

iPod: iPod touch 6G

iPad: iPad mini 2, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 4, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro

Prospective iOS 9 jailbreakers with access to a Windows machine or Bootcamp feature on a Mac computer can go ahead and jailbreak their iOS device, using the step-by-step guide posted below:

  • Ensure your iOS device is updated to iOS 9.3.3 firmware as it is the latest jailbreakable firmware available in the market.
  • Turn off the Find My iPhone feature and also disable the passcode on your device that needs to be jailbroken. Connect the device to computer, using a lightning cable.

Download and install the latest version of iTunes on the computer.

  • Allow the permission to access info from your iOS device to computer and vice-versa by adding them to trusted sources.

Download the PP/Pangu jailbreak tool for Windows

  • Right-click on the jailbreak.exe and choose Run as Administrator
  • Windows will prompt you to allow access to make changes to your computer. Just click the Yes button.
  • Allow access to the app via Windows Firewall or Trust the connections to go ahead with the installation.
  • Wait till the tool launches and hit enter or click the install button to start downloading and installing the tool.
  • Wait until the installation finishes and you can see a new PP app icon on the desktop.
  • Right-click it and select Run As Administrator again.
  • In the next window, click the Yes button when prompted to run the app on the computer.
  • The jailbreak tool interface should pop-up and let you detect any connected devices.
  • Wait until your iOS device is detected and then hit the green button to continue.
  • A loading circle will appear on the green button suggesting the pre-jailbreak process in action.
  • Wait for a few minutes and a prompt should appear asking for your Apple ID. Create a new Apple ID or use an existing ID (if you are ready for the risk) and enter the login credentials. After entering your username and password, just hit the green button to login.
  • After some time, a new Pangu/PP app should appear on your iOS device's Home screen.
  • Navigate to Settings app (not the Pangu app) on your iPhone or iPad and select General > Device Management.
  • Tap on the profile and then hit the blue Trust button that appears with your email ID.
  • When the pop-up prompt asks your permission, just hit the red Trust button and you will be taken back to the Home screen.
  • Open the Pangu/PP app on the device's Home screen. Allow access to push notifications by tapping the OK button on the display.
  • Then hit the blue circle in the app's UI and you should see some text message Chinese. At this moment, just lock the device by pressing the sleep/power button once and a new notification will appear on the device's screen.
  • You will now see a prompt suggesting your device's storage is almost full, which indicates that Cydia is being installed and there is nothing to worry about. Just unlock the device and relaunch Pangu app and you will see that Cydia is being installed.
  • Let your device reboot automatically after Cydia installation completes. Once the device boots back up, you will see the Cydia icon on the Home screen.
  • Open Cydia by double-tapping on it and it will extract data and prepare the filesystem, as it normally does when any device is jailbroken.

That's it. Your iOS device is now jailbroken semi-untethered on iOS 9.3.3 with Pangu.

Note: If the jailbreak process did not finish correctly on first attempt, just retry the process until it is successful.
