Tiffany was forced to make an exit from KBS2's South Korean reality show, Sister's Slam Dunk. The Girl's Generation member, who was one of the show's contestants, received hatred from the viewers after she mistakenly posted Rising Sun Flag emoticon on Korean Independence day.
The singer has already made an apology for her mistake, but the makers of the show decided to show her the back seat. On August 18, the PD of Sister's Slam Dunk' stated: "The producers and Tiffany's agency SM Entertainment discussed her recent issue involving the Rising Sun Flag on the National Liberation Day of Korea on August 15. After meeting, we agreed the controversy affected citizen sentiment and decided on Tiffany's leave from the show." The staffers further relayed that the show will keep running as it is with remaining five members and no new additions. The cast members include Kim Sook, Jessi, Ra Mi Ran, Min Hyo Rin, and Hong Jin Kyung.
In addition, Tiffany's agency has also confirmed the news of singer's departure. "Her withdrawal was decided on after discussing with the show. Tiffany is deeply reflecting on her mistake of uploading a social media post with writing that included the design of the rising sun on National Liberation Day," S.M Entertainment relayed.
"On the agency's level, we will do our best to take preventative measures to ensure that this sort of incident does not occur again. We sincerely apologize for having caused many people such anxiety," the label asserted.
