Former Jewelry member Lee Ji Hyun has parted ways with her businessman husband for three years. The songstress reportedly divorced her beau without any demand in the assets or the alimony. The separation proceedings came to closure on 25 August.
The couple reportedly applied for a divorce at the Suwon District court in March. While the pair was not able to reach a stipulated agreement, the court advised a mediation, and after three rounds of discussion, the couple finally settled their affairs.
Meanwhile, the legal representative of the singer revealed that Ji Hyun gave up her share of alimony to receive children's custody: "The trial will have to continue on longer if she fights for assets and alimony. Lee Ji Hyun has decided to give up both for full custody of her children and they have reached a final compromise, " the source told Allkpop. The South Korean singer-actress married in 2013, and went on to have a daughter and a son.
Post proceedings, Ji Hyun took to her social media and posted some love filled pictures with her two children. The former Circle member also announced her single status and thanked fans for supporting her in tough times: "I'm writing this because many people have expressed their concerns. My children's father and I are no longer together, but we will work hard to become good parents to them in future."
She further stated: "I am surrounded by many supportive people who have helped me during a difficult time, and I'm thankful to everyone who wrote cheerful messages to me on social media. On nights when it becomes difficult, I will read those comments and take heart. I want to say to those who cheered me on even though they might be suffering even more than myself... good things and bad things all pass with time."
