GTA 5 Online: Real reason why Casino remains closed in game

YouTuber MrBossFTW explains the real reasons why the Casino is still inaccessible in GTA 5 and GTA Online.

GTA 5 and GTA Online have been the hallmark of Rockstar Games' success in the long-standing 'Grand Theft Auto' action-RPG series while the online-gamer community has constantly debated the real reason why the Casino in Vinewood still remains closed in both offline and online versions of the game.

Renowned YouTuber MrBossFTW has shed some light on the real reasons why Rockstar has chosen to lock the Casino out of the game till date.

As the prolific tipster Yan2295 reveals in the recent post on his personal website, we have seen a bunch of casinos throughout the GTA series including 13 casinos in GTA San Andreas (located near Los Venturas) wherein three of them are fully accessible with different gambling and game modes.

In addition, we came across the Kenji Casino in GTA 3 and three more casinos from Liberty City Stories while none of them were accessible to players in the game. Similarly, there is an abandoned casino in GTA 4.

Consequently, if the past is any indication then we are highly-unlikely to see the launch of Casino DLC in GTA 5 story mode. There is no doubt that such a massively exciting game content could revive rapidly declining interest in the game, especially with hardly any replay value in the single-player mode.

Moving on to the multiplayer mode, the biggest concern or hindrance to the addition of Casino feature would be micro-transactions in GTA Online which would allow players to exchange real money for virtual money. The cyber-laws in several countries view the opportunity of betting and online lottery system as illegal while the individual states in the US differ on how they handle such a scenario.

Even now, it is possible to track the beta files relating to the Casino DLC within the game. The 'Opening Soon' banner placed on the front side of the building further strengthens this claim, as Rockstar clearly had future plans to unveil the Casino in GTA 5.

There is also some evidence of audio-files (see video below) pertaining to the highly-anticipated Casino DLC in GTA Online, wherein Lester tells you about a new Casino opening in town. There is also a voiceover recording for Martin Madrazo who seems to be quite excited about the impending opportunity with the Casino.

Nevertheless, given the legal constraints with players of minor age group and complications involving the in-game micro-transactions, Rockstar has reportedly abandoned the Casino project. Not to mention, the game maker was recently caught in a legal wrangle with Lindsay Lohan who has been allegedly impersonated without her consent in a poster artwork for GTA 5.

Coming back to the single-player mode, the only reason why Rockstar would drop the idea of Casino DLC is due to the rampaging money-glitches prevalent in the game. It would be really hard for Rockstar to monitor all micro-transactions concerning millions of dollars being wagered into the Casino system on a daily basis.
