iOS 10 jailbreak: Hacker Luca Todesco exhibits iPad with MobileSubstrate support

Hacker Luca Todesco successfully demonstrates a jailbroken iPad running on iOS 10 with MobileSubstrate support via YouTube.

Apple's anti-jailbreak measures employed with iOS 10 release has finally been thwarted by prolific hacker, Luca Todesco aka @qwertyoruiop, as he successfully demonstrates an iPad running the Cydia MobileSubstrate-based jailbreak tweaks in iOS 10, in his latest demo video on YouTube. Todesco had showcased the first working jailbreak for iOS 10 aka yaluX, just a couple of weeks ago.

Todesco's latest development with iOS 10 jailbreak includes successful code injection while launching numerous Cydia apps such as Anemone and Mobile Terminal on a jailbroken iPad. The hacker further explains in his video that he used a self-made library to replace the SubstrateLauncher in order to make it compatible with iOS 10.

One closer look at the new jailbreak features highlighted in the video (below) reveals the Glasklart Home screen theme that has been installed via Cydia.

According to iDownloadBlog, Todesco's yaluX jailbreak is capable of bypassing Apple's Kernel Patch Protection (KPP) in iOS 10 using a side-loaded app that works only on 64-bit devices. In other words, yaluX is a semi-untethered jailbreak like the Pangu for iOS 9.3.3 and it does not support 32-bit devices such as the iPhone 5.

The latest iOS 10 jailbreak continues to be a work of Todesco's crazy hacking-skills without any promise of its public release in the horizon. However, the Pangu jailbreak-developer team has recently hinted about its ongoing work on iOS 10 jailbreak and it appears like the next jailbreak release is just around the corner as Apple recently rolled out the iOS 10 public release.
