Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is relieved after "positive" scan results of injured striker Harry Kane.
The England international injured his ankle moments after scoring the winner for Spurs during their Premier League clash against Sunderland on 18 September. Initial assessment had suggested Kane had not fractured his ankle but would be out of action for between six and eight weeks due to ligament damage.
Despite not being able to fix an exact time period for his recovery, the 44-year-old said the results were much better than what they had expected, ahead of his side's Moscow trip for the Champions League clash on Tuesday.
"It's much, much better than we expected. We are happy. The scan was very positive so we're very, very happy about this news," Pochettino was quoted as saying by ESPN.
"We still cannot give a time of how long it will take for him to recover. I am not a doctor. It's hard to say one, two, three weeks but it's much, much, much better than we expected."
Kane, who was also 2015/16 Premier League's top-scorer with 22 goals, will miss crucial league encounters against Manchester City and Leicester City but Pochettino would want him back before the North London derby against Arsenal on 6 November.
Meanwhile, Spurs, who had lost their Champions League opener against AS Monaco earlier this month, will be missing the services of Eric Dier and Mousa Dembele, both of whom picked up hamstring injuries during the Sunderland clash, on Tuesday. Pochettino confirmed Moussa Sissoko will also be not available for selection.
"They're OK but we don't want to take a risk. We've a lot of games ahead, and it's difficult period with them and for the national teams. We're not taking a risk with them. They're training well," the manager added.
