After his successful stint as Captain Yoo Si Jin in the monster hit drama Descendants of the Sun, Hallyu star Song Joong Ki is returning to the world of Korean television series. The 31-year-old has been reportedly roped in for JTBC's pre-filmed drama Man to Man.
According to reports on My Daily, the boyish looking hunk has been signed to make a special appearance on the mystery thriller alongside actor Park Sung Woong. The actor is stated to portray the character of an assistant director named Yeo Woon Kwang. While the details of Joong Ki's character have not been revealed yet, it is said that the actor's portrayal is going to be quite powerful and eloquent.
JTBC's Man to Man starring Park Hae Jin, Kim Min Jung, Yeon Jung Hoon, Chae Jung Ahn and many more tells the story of a popular actor and his bodyguard. The drama reportedly comes from Descendants of the Sun's co-writer Kim Won-seok, who has also penned other drama such as Queen's Classroom and Friend, Our Legend. The upcoming series will be a pre-produced one, and is scheduled to hit small screen in early 2017. The shoot will start in November.
Meanwhile, as per earlier speculations it has been reported that Song Hye Kyo's rumored boyfriend will be taking lead in a Chinese project, titled Honey, the Scent of Love. As per reports, Joong Ki is over with the movie schedule of Battleship Island, and will soon start shooting for the drama.
Reportedly, the Korean-Chinese joint production drama series is being produced by NEW, the same banner which produced the record breaking series, Descendants of the Sun.
