American singer and songwriter Katy Perry has opened up about her desire to have children. The 31-year-old Roar hitmaker who is dating Orlando Bloom, recently shared her passion for children.
At the Once Upon a Time Gala for the Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Perry told Us Weekly: "Children to me are becoming a big focus. I don't even have one, but I see it in my sister's kids and just how much nurturing and love they need."
"I see the amazing things of birth and children and vulnerability and how we have to take care of them and how big of an impression we have. It's such a responsibility," she said.
The Part Of Me singer and the Lord of the Rings star were first romantically linked in January, when they were spotted getting cosy at The Weinstein Company and Netflix Golden Globes after-party. The couple were spotted kissing at the Coachella music festival in California in April.
Previously, reports emerged that Bloom is planning to propose to Perry by the end of the year. A source told E! News: "They are in love and happier than ever. [Orlando] would like to get engaged to [Katy] before the year is up."
"[Marriage and children] is something Katy has always wanted when she met the man she was ready to settle down with," the insider added.
Perry divorced comedian Russell Brand in 2011, while Bloom parted ways with Australian model Miranda Kerr in 2013.
