Veteran Hollywood actor Al Pacino is likely to share screen space with South Indian actor Dhanush in his as-yet-untitled Tamil film with Indian film maker Karthik Subbaraj.
A source close to the makers has revealed that they have approached the Scarface actor to play a part, which will require a Hollywood star. It was also reported that they initially wanted Morgan Freeman for the role but later settled for Pacino.
"The makers of the film wanted a Hollywood actor. They have approached Al Pacino to play the part, and are negotiating the dates and other details. We are yet to know if he will be finalised," the source told the Times of India.
"I guess a formal announcement will be made soon. Also, a major portion of the film will be shot in the US, so they can get the Hollywood star to shoot there itself."
Karthik made his directorial debut with the thriller film "Pizza" in 2012 and received critical acclaim for "Jigarthanda" in 2014 and "Iravi" in 2016. The three-film-old director will team up for the first time with Dhanush.
While Al Pacino was last seen in Shintaro Shimosawa's Misconduct, National Film Award-winner Dhanush is awaiting the release of his political thriller Kodi on 28 October.
