Halloween is knocking on the door. Tompkins Square Park in Manhattan's East Village in New York was buzzing this weekend with hundreds of spectators watching the 26th annual dog parade.
Hundreds of dogs along with their owners walked the ramp and posed for the shutterbugs. Each of them tried to dress up in unique ways to catch the limelight. Many of the participants prepared for weeks and spent sizeable amounts on hiring stylists and costume designers to dress their canine companions.
The competition had a slew of dog costumes including common food costumes like tacos, hotdogs and pizzas to more creative ones such as a dog kissing booth, Pacman and Eleven from popular Netflix show "Stranger Things."
The theme of 2016 election campaign was also taken into account. A dog was dressed as "Donald Drump," with a white dress shirt, tie, and red hat that read "Make America Drump Again." While, another small dog played upon Hillary Clinton's "basket of deplorables" comment by showcasing a "basket of adorables."
Be it the "Game of Thrones" or the "Ghostbursters", bumblebees or F trains, the show had it all.
The winners of the costume competition were announced by TV personality Giuliana Rancic, who was the guest emcee for the event.
