Six people died in a fire at Sultanah Aminah Hospital in the southern Malaysian state of Johor on Tuesday morning. Hundreds of people were evacuated following the blaze, officials said.
Of the seven people trapped inside the intensive-care unit, only one could be rescued, Malaysian Fire and Rescue officials said.
Among the dead were four females, all of whom were believed to be patients, Johor Baru Police Chief ACP Sulaiman Salleh said.
Initial investigations suggested short circuit could have triggered the blaze but official said they were investigating the cause of the incident.
