Less than 48 hours after a hospital fire in Malaysia's Johor Baru killed six patients, another shocking incident has surfaced wherein an ambulance carrying four hospital staff caught fire in Kuala Kangsar, about 50km from Ipoh.
It was reported that the incident happened on Wednesday at around 8.59pm and the blaze destroyed 80 per cent of the vehicle. However, no immediate injury was reported.
The fire, which broke out in the front part of the ambulance, spread to the back cabin before it was doused, according to the Straits Times.
Six patients in the intensive care unit were killed after a fire broke out at the Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) in the southern Malaysian state of Johor on Tuesday morning. Initial investigations suggested short circuit could have triggered the blaze, said the Malaysian authorities.
A second fire occurred at the same hospital a day after the deadly fire. Reports say this time the operation theatre in the emergency and trauma ward has been affected by the fire.
