Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have come to a temporary custody agreement regarding their six children following their divorce. The 41-year-old actress had filed for divorce on 19 September citing irreconcilable differences.
On 4 November Brad Pitt filed for joint custody of the former couple's 6 children - Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 15, Pax Jolie-Pitt, 12, Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 11, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, 10, and twins Knox Jolie-Pitt and Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, 8.
This is all that's known so far about the custody agreement:
• Angelina Jolie will retain custody of the children.
• The court agreed to allow the children to continue 'therapeutic' visits with their father, Brad Pitt
• A representative for the actress said the current decision has been determined by childcare professionals to be in the children's best interest.
• Entertainment Tonight, however, reported the agreement between the former couple is 'indefinite' and is separate from the voluntary safety plan implemented by the Department of Child and Family Services.
• The source has also confirmed that the current custody rules will be in place until they decide to make a change
On 14 October, Brad Pitt reportedly met his children for the first time since his wife filed for divorce. The 52-year-old actor apparently received 90-minutes to meet his children according to a temporary plan recommended by DCFS (Department of Children Family Services).
"It was a very emotional meeting," a source told Touch magazine. "Once the kids came in, Brad lit up. He had tears in his eyes and tried to hold it together because he didn't want them to get upset because he was crying," the insider added.
