Android 7.1 Nougat update is currently available to a select few devices including the Google Pixel, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Pixel C. The new Pixel phone is the only one to enjoy the Nougat features out of the box while the rest of the Google phones have access to the Developer Preview version of Android 7.1.
The unprivileged users who do not have access to Android 7.1 may still get a sneak peek at the latest Nougat update from Google, thanks to the video posted by the company's Android developer team highlighting the key features of the new update.
Some of the noteworthy features that we can come across in Android 7.1 include support for round icons, image keyboards (emojis) and app shortcuts. In addition to explaining each of these features with examples, the developer video walks us through screen animations and layouts, enhanced wallpaper gallery as well as the app shortcuts in action.
As Android Central reports, although the language used in the five-minute video is aimed at enticing developers, even end users could get a fair idea on changes coming to their phone with the release of Android 7.1 update.
