OnePlus 3 users are in for some exciting news as the OnePlus team has just announced the arrival of Android 7.0 Nougat beta update for the handset in November, followed by an official over-the-air (OTA) update by the end of 2016.
The information regarding the forthcoming Nougat updates for the OnePlus 3 has been sourced via Engadget, who recently spoke to Brian Yoon, the head of software department at OnePlus.
It is also confirmed that the new Android 7.0 update will soon hit older smartphones like the OnePlus 2. However, there are no specific details about the update's release time or date for the handset.
The news of Android Nougat rollout for the OnePlus devices has come barely a few months after the company decided to unify its development teams working on HydrogenOS and OxygenOS. The move seems to have really served the purpose of speeding up the release of Android updates on OnePlus phones to keep up with the competition.
In related news, the OnePlus team is already working on the impending launch of next OnePlus smartphone with Android Nougat installed out-of-the-box. The next-gen OnePlus smartphone is expected to be unveiled on 15 November, which is barely a few days away from now.
