Lee Hong Ki has opened up about his close friendship with actress Park Shin Hye. The 26-year-old actor revealed the Pinocchio star gives him tips on relationships.
During an interview on Park Myung Soo's radio show on KBS Cool FM, Hong Ki revealed he and Shin Hye are best friends. He said: "We talk to each other informally. We've known each other since we were young because we both used to be child actors, so we're really close. I'm more comfortable with her than with my guy friends."
"Park Shin Hye has almost zero dating experience. But she's more mature than I am, so she gives me life advice a lot," Hong Ki added.
The duo acted together in the drama, You're Beautiful in 2009. The main vocalist of the Korean pop/rock band F.T. Island recently made his debut as a solo artist with the track Insensible. The music video for his debut song featured Shin Hye.
However, in an interview with TV Report in 2015, Shin Hye admitted that she had secretly dated throughout the years. She said: "Although I'm not dating anyone right now, I've been dating on and off without the public noticing; some of the experiences were more memorable than the others. Unfortunately, nobody seems to be attracted to me. I guess it's not great to have many male friends. It just means that I'm not attractive as a woman. I used to seriously wonder if I had no feminine charms."
"Unless I am deeply into a person, I usually pass by my emotions unknowingly," Shin Hye added. "I don't think I'm good at keeping a long term relationship. I spend so much time on my work, totally absorbed, that it's hard for me to date. It's difficult for both me and my partner."
She confessed: "It's so hard for me because dating isn't just about seeing each other because you like one another. You have to make the effort and sacrifice your own time for your partner. I'm not good at focusing on other stuff when I have something on my mind. That is why I sometimes don't even contact my friends or family that often. Although I wanted to marry early in the past, I am now far from thinking about marriage just because I have more I want to accomplish as time has passed by."
