Heirs girl Park Shin Hye seems to have made yet another charity outreach for the needy. The actress has donated 50 million KRW (45,000 USD) for 83,340 coal briquettes for the Babsang Community Welfare Foundation. A total of 556 families will be staying warm for a whole month, thanks to the actress.
Well, this is not the first time the Doctors actress is making headlines for her generous charity. Earlier this month, she donated 50 million won to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association which will benefit the Seonum Market shops fire victims. Interestingly, she made the donation in secret and even her entertainment agency SALT learned about the development several days after the donation was made. "We didn't know about Park Shin Hye's donations but it's true that she donated 50,000,000 KRW," a representative was quoted saying.
The Seomum Market fire tragedy went on for nearly 59 hours from November 30 to December 2 damaging the shops of approximately 800 small and large vendors. However, no injuries were recorded. Apart from Park, comedian Yoo Jae Suk is also said to have donated 50 million KRW for the fire victims secretly.
Shin Hye has never shied away from lending a helping hand to the less fortunate individuals and families. As an honor to her deeds, she was recently inducted into the Korea Food for the Hungry International's (KFHI) Philanthropy Club after giving a slew of donations to the organization previously. "I have not done much, but I am thankful and embarrassed to be given this honor. I will work hard to share and participate in fitting the title of philanthropist," Park Shin Hye was quoted saying during the event.
Meanwhile, recently received a lot of criticism from Hallyu experts for posting about the upcoming Coldplay concert in Seoul. In her post, she said that she was unable to get the tickets for the concert and the post was even accompanied by a sad emoji. Soon, she became the target of the critics who claimed that she posted the message to get free tickets from fans. Later, the actress deleted the post.
On career front, her comedy film "Annoying Brother" released in South Korean movie theaters on Nov. 24, Thursday and has been getting good reviews.
