Super Mario Run offers varied gameplay experience with five more playable characters, apart from the default character Mario. The ability to unlock and play with all five characters including Toad, Luigi, Yoshi, Toadette and Princes Peach, makes this game more interesting and fun.
Here's a simple guide to unlock all the five game characters, as you progress in Nintendo' first ever automatic side-scrolling runner game for mobile platform.
How to unlock Toadette
Just collect 200 each of red, green and blue toads to build a house for Toadette. Once you have completed the construction of the house, the Toadette will be unlocked.
How to unlock Yoshi
Yoshi can be unlocked after you have acquired 30 each of red and yellow toads that's required for building him a house. Completing the house construction is the only prerequisite to unlock Yoshi.
How to unlock Toad
Toad is the easiest of all five characters to be unlocked in the game. Here's how to unlock it:
- Just ensure you have linked your Nintendo account to the game.
- Go to the Kingdom screen and choose 'My Nintendo'.
- Navigate to the Rewards section and hit the Redeem button under Toad's image.
- Finally, return to the Kingdom screen and tap on the gift box to unlock the Toad.
How to unlock Luigi
Mario's brother Luigi needs a home in order to accompany you. Use the Build button via the Kingdom Builder section and then choose Place to purchase the Luigi's House.
You will need at least 150 each of green and purple toads from Toad Rally in order to build Luigi's house.
How to unlock Princess Peach
Just complete all 24 levels of the World Tour to unlock Princess Peach, who has been apprehended by Bower.
Note: After you have unlocked all the characters, you can switch between them by entering the World Tour mode and selecting any level. Now, hit the bubble at the bottom-right corner of the screen which shows Mario's face, in order to change your character, before tapping on the Start button.
