The Xiaomi Mi lineup comprising the Mi4C, Mi4S, Mi 5S, Mi Note, Mi Note 2, Mi Mix and Mi Max are expected to receive the latest Android 7.0 Nougat update, according to a recent statement by a company representative on the popular Chinese microblogging site, Weibo.
Despite the representative's message pointing to the older Mi Note as one of the models expected to get the Nougat update, veterans of the Android community have suggested that the guy could be hinting at the newer Mi Note 2.
This is especially true due to the fact that all other Mi models in the list are 2016 releases with the exception of Mi4c, which dates back to September 2015. Mi Note, released back in January 2015 is pretty old from Xiaomi's update compatibility standards, reports The Android Soul.
The Mi 5 has been the only handset to have embraced the official Nougat update till date, besides being the first Xiaomi device to receive the latest Android 7.1.1 update via CyanogenMod 14 ROM.
Meanwhile, there is still no word on the precise release date for the impending Nougat update on the said devices. However, it is widely believed that the update could start rolling out as early as Q1 2017. Besides, it is still not known when the Redmi series would start receiving the Nougat update.
