Actor of "Battleship Island", Song Joong-ki gifted scented candles to each of the 500 staff of "Battleship Island". Reportedly, he has spent 25 million won or $21,000 for the gifts.
To thank the "Battleship Island" staff for their hard work, the rumoured boyfriend of Song Hye-kyo gave the candles, worth about 50,000 won or $42 each, said some of his staffs on Friday.
Soompi reported, it is his way of expressing his gratitude to the film's workers for sharing the joy and sorrows of making the movie.
Moreover, the gifts were not mass distributed. Rather, each of the scented candles for each crew came with a handwritten message.
Everyone who was part of the "Battleship Island" movie was overwhelmed by this gesture of Song Joong-ki.
After the end of "Descendants of the Sun" the actor was busy with different fan meets in different cities in China. He then got busy shooting for "Battleship Island". In the movie, he plays the role of an independence fighter, Park Moo Young who infiltrated Hashima Island in order to rescue people working then for Korea's independence from imperial Japan, Yibada reported.
The website further informs that the Ryu Seung directed movie Battleship Island is about 400 Joseon captives in "Battleship Island" who have placed their lives at stake to flee from the forced labor on the island.

Reportedly, the Next Entertainment World, which has produced Descendants of the Sun, said in the mid-December that Gaumont, a French studio, is all set to shoot Train to Busan's remake.
