CES 2017: Kingston launches world's largest 2TB USB flash drive

Specifications and preorder date for Kingston 2TB flash drive has been revealed at CES 2017.

Kingston has just unveiled its new USB flash drive with 2TB capacity at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, which the company claims to be the world's largest. The new 2TB flash drive with the model name 'GT' aka 'Generation Terabyte' has been added to the DataTraveler Ultimate series, which also features the 1TB configuration.

The company's press release confirms that both the 1TB and 2TB variants now support ultra-fast data transfer speeds through the new USB 3.1 Gen 1 interface. The 2TB variant is capable of storing up to 70 hours of 4K video.

Built with a zinc-alloy metal casing, the 2TB Kingston drive is capable of increased shock resistance and it is supported on all major desktop operating systems including the Windows 7 and Windows 10. The drive comes with the standard 5-year hardware warranty against manufacturing defects and faulty components.
