A 12-year-old American girl broadcast her suicide on Facebook Live and the entire world saw in despair the young girl ending her life by hanging herself. The video is extremely disturbing.

It was reported that Katelyn Nicole Davis of Cedartown in northern Georgia was being physically and mentally abused in her family which probably forced her to take this drastic step.

According to Agence France-Presse, Davis posted live on Facebook on 30 December broadcasting her entire suicide. She was seen dressed in a white blouse and jeans placing her phone in her front yard and saying final goodbye to her friend and family members before proceeding to tie a rope around a tree branch and subsequently hanging herself.

"I'm sorry that I'm not pretty enough... I'm sorry for everything. I'm really, truly sorry. But I can't do this," said the young girl between sobs.

After the initial investigation, it was revealed that Davis accused a member of her family of sexually abusing her in another video she posted several days before her death, following which police have ordered a probe into the matter.

While local police expressed disappointment for not being able to stop the horrible incident, Polk County Police Chief Kenny Dodd told the local Fox 5 television station that they were not able to stop the wide circulation of the video on the internet, reported the news agency. "We want it down as much as anyone for the family and it may be harmful to other kids," said Dodd, as reported.

"We contacted some of the sites. They asked if they had to take it down and by law they don't. But it's just the common decent thing to do in my opinion," he said.

The heart-rending video was deleted from Facebook by Davis's family and was pulled down by YouTube and other websites around the world.
