Samsung has just started rolling out the highly-anticipated Android 7.0 Nougat update for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in a phased manner. The new update is currently available only for those users who signed for the Beta Program.
Although the expected release date for the final or public version is set for 17 January, the beta testers have been granted the privilege of experiencing the final release of Android 7.0 update, first.
As SamMobile reports, the new update bearing the build number G935FXXU1DPLT is presently available only on the European variant of Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F). The update includes the January security patch with an estimated file size of 215MB.
It has been confirmed that the new Nougat update is not yet available on the US carrier variants of S7 Edge including T-Mobile, Vodafone and Sprint. As the update is gradually rolling out to the public in phases, it may not yet be available for all users who have installed the beta firmware earlier. However, if you missed the update notification or cannot wait for its official release then just head over to device Settings, open Software Update section and check for it manually.
IBTimes SG will share the manual download links of new Nougat update for both Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge once it is available for the public, as it is currently limited to beta testers. So, stay tuned.
