Malaysian cartoonist Mohammad Nor Khalid, popularly known as Lat, was rushed to Pantai Hospital for the second time after he complained about feeling unwell on Friday. Last week he was hospitalised for heart problem and was discharged on 10 January.
it was reported that the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize winner was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. However, Lat's brother Mamat Khalid said that the condition of the 65-year-old cartoonist is now stable.
Lat's wife Datin Faezah Ahmad Zanzali asked Malaysians to pray for the cartoonist. "Please pray for him. I just got back after spending my whole night at the hospital yesterday. I hope people would give him some time before coming and visiting him," she said, according to the New Straits Times.

Lat published more than 20 volumes of cartoons since he was 13 years old. He is known for creating brilliant satirical pieces with characters from ordinary daily life. However, he showcased such as a variety of work that it is impossible to categorise him in one specific category. The Kampung Boy (1979) is a perfect example of his brilliant work.
