Samsung has finalised the design and specifications of its forthcoming flagship phone, the Galaxy S8, as the prototype is now awaiting the approval of the company's CEO and Vice Chairman. Galaxy S8 has reportedly dropped the dual camera feature owing to the budget constraints for acquiring the latest technology that will be exclusive to premium models like the Galaxy S8 Plus.

Among other noteworthy changes, the physical home button has been scrapped and the fingerprint scanner has been pushed to the back of the device to make way for a bigger display. The Galaxy S8 will feature a 5.7in display while the S8 Plus will sport an imposing 6.2in screen.

Coming to the confirmed features, the S8 will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 processor chipset (10nm tech) for the US while the rest of the world will ship with OEM customised Exynos chip based on the same technology.

The next-gen flagship phone is expected to incorporate 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage space for the base model.

With the likes of Nokia 8, HTC 11, Xiaomi Mi 6 and LG G6 competing for attention at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC), Samsung is also likely to unveil its flagship Galaxy S8 at the same event.

Although the LG G6 is expected to see an initial release in March, its worldwide release is expected in April when Samsung is set to launch its S8 globally.
