Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has revealed he is happy at Old Trafford and is not considering a move away from the club either in January or at the end of the season.

The England international smashed a late free kick in the stoppage time to help the Red Devils score a late equaliser in his side's 1-1 draw against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium last weekend.

Rooney, who scored after coming from the bench against Mark Hughes' side saw him become United's leading goalscorer after netting his 250th goal for the Old Trafford outfit. His goal also made sure that Jose Mourinho's side maintained their unbeaten run since their defeat to Fenerbahce in November.

There were reports emerging that the former Everton man could be moving to China, where several high profile players have moved to the Far East including the likes of Chelsea's Oscar and John Obi Mikel, along with Belgium international Axel Witsel.

"I'm committed. I have been at the club for a long time," Rooney told Sky Sports.

"Football is a strange game. Anything can happen and things change very quickly but I am happy at Manchester United.

"Of course, as I have said before, I want to play more games. I am in a happy place, a good moment personally, so I think I have a year, with an option [of a] year to go. We will see what happens and what happens after that."

Meanwhile, Mourinho has admitted that Rooney will decide when he will bring an end to his United career.

"I think the future belongs to him and what he wants in his career. The way he wants to end it, the way he wants to enjoy the last part of his, that belongs to him," Mourinho explained, as quoted by the Telegraph.

"I think he still has more to give us, but you reach a certain level in his career when it is up to him. Could anyone have been critical of Zlatan if, last summer, he decided to go to China or USA, one guy who has had an amazing career, and it is the same with Wayne.
