The internet was abuzz with rumours that 2NE1's Dara is dating Big Bang's G-Dragon. The news popped up after a video showing G-Dragon with his arm around Dara went viral on social networking sites. According to fans, the video was shot after Big Bang's concert on January 8. Further, the rumours swelled when another video of Dragon kissing Dara on the head was circulated. The video clips went viral as the hashtag #Daragon.
Immediately, the stars' agency YG Entertainment chipped in and explained it as just rumours. They also clarified that both the videos were staged as a joke. "G-Dragon suggested to Sandara Park that they have their photos taken in that pose as a joke, and so they were. It was a joke that turned into a dating rumor," the agency said in a statement.
In an appearance on the Korean TV program "Talking Street," Dara repeated the same. "We were playing a joke. People from the company teased me saying that G-Dragon had me in a headlock. I don't date at work," she explained, according to the Korea Herald.
"After the end of BIGBANG's concert, we were heading to the after-party and we walked out like that because there were so many fans but I didn't think they would create headlines that way," she added.
However, fans always want the two entertainers to be together. Moreover, Dara has recently revealed that she thinks of Dragon as an ideal boyfriend. It looks like the qualities to be her dream man matches all with the rapper and fashion icon. She is often recognized as a fashion and beauty icon because of her eccentric and distinct fashion style.
Dara made her Kpop debut as a part of 2NE1 in 2009. The four-member girl's band also had CL, Bom, and Minzy. However, the youngest of all, Minzy, left the group on April 5, 2016, and soon after 2NE1 was disbanded. While Dara and CL have been retained by YG as soloists, they have signed the new contracts too.
