Nermin Halilagic, a 38-year-old from Bosnia, recently discovered he has the unique and unusual ability to become 'magnetic' using a special energy radiating from his body. Without making any special preparation, he claims that he can attach items like forks, knives and other kitchen appliances, as well as non-metal objects such as remote controls, plastic stuff and mobile phones.
The Balkans version of CNN quoted Halilagic as saying that he first discovered his special powers one day when he was having dinner with his son at his home in the Bosnian town of Bihac. He found that a fork jumped off a plate and attached itself to his body. Halilagic also added that he has gained healing powers.
But, it is to be noted that Halilagic is not the first person to claim to have a magnetic body. This phenomenon has been seen quite often particularly in eastern Europe. A Georgian kick-boxing trainer named Etibar Elchiyev made the headlines in 2011 by setting a Guinness World Record for sticking 53 spoons to his body. Elchiyev was also caught on camera pulling a two-ton Mercedes-Benz while a man sat on a metal seat that was attached to his chest.
Ivan Stoiljkovic, a six-year-old Croatian boy was also photographed in 2011 with an array of household objects stuck to his body. Reports said he was able to carry up to 25kg of metal stuck to his torso.
