Overview
Southampton registered a narrow 1-0 win over Liverpool in the second leg of the English League Cup semi-final clash against Liverpool at Anfield. This allowed the Saints to seal a 2-0 win over the Reds on aggregate and have made it to the final of the competition.
Claude Puel's side will take on Manchester United in the EFL Cup final in February. The south coast club's manager will be looking to knock another top team from the Premier League in another cup competition on Saturday.
Arsenal, on the other hand, registered a narrow 2-1 win over Burnley in the last fixture. The tie also saw their midfielder Granit Xhaka receive his second red card of the season. It was Alexis Sanchez's stoppage time penalty that allowed the Gunners seal three points.
In the previous round, the north London club came from behind to beat Preston North End 2-1. Arsene Wenger will be looking to avoid a similar performance in order to progress further in this season's FA Cup.
