BTOB's Yook Sungjae carved a space for himself in the Korean entertainment world with his amazing performance in the recently ended tvN drama 'Goblin'. Yook Sungjae was already well known for his performances in Who Are You: School 2015 and The Village: Achiara's Secret, but Goblin lifted him to further heights.
Sungjae revealed that the decision to join Goblin and play the role of Deok Hwa was sudden. On SBS's Night of Real Entertainment, the popular idol spoke about how he got into Goblin, and how the decision to be a part of it came to him quickly.
He further revealed that even before reading the script he was interested in the role. It was a kind of impulsive decision for him to be a part of the show and it turned out to be a good decision indeed as the fantasy drama became one of the most popular cable dramas and broke multiple viewership and OST records.
Yook Sungjae revealed that he is really grateful for the opportunity and is glad that he could be a part of such a hit project. Sungjae jokingly mentioned how his popularity got boosted after the time the drama started airing. "When I go to a restaurant, I can feel it when I hear [the word] "Goblin" at a table next to me," Sungjae said.
The show aired its final episode on January 21 and recently aired two special episodes which included some behind-the-scenes clips. The clips hinted that Yook Sungjae was one of the most loved members of the drama and it showed how Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook fought to win over his heart.
Even though the drama is complete, the cast members are still in contact with each other as during the show they became really close friends. In fact, it is very evident as recently when Sungjae returned to promoting with BTOB and the Goblin cast made an appearance at their concert.
