Netflix finally announced the official release date of "Orange is the New Black" Season 5. The teaser video of the upcoming season was uploaded for the fans and the announcement of the date was made on Twitter.
The promo video is captioned "Things will never be the same," on YouTube and "There is no turning back," on Twitter. Fans are wondering as to what these ominous messages are hinting at, as the fourth season of the drama ended with a riot.
"Following the death of Poussey, the prisoners coming from different factions started to run amok. The rioting prisoners descended at the entrance of the prison where a guard with a hidden gun was situated. However, this gun quickly fell out of his hands. It turned out that the guard was Daya," reported Yibada.
Not much detail is revealed about the upcoming season as Netflix is mum about it. However, at the SAG Awards 2017, in an interview with E! Online, Danielle Brooks revealed that in Season 5, the events in all the 15 episodes would happen in only three days. She also said that the upcoming season will be very exciting.
In a separate interview, Taylor Schilling said: "I think the stakes are higher in this season than they have been in a while just by virtue of the compressed time and seeing people in compressed circumstances really raises the stakes. It's exciting to watch, I think for all of us."
Meanwhile, according to Deadline, Dominic Patten told that the previous season is still very fresh and is binge-worthy. It can be recalled that the fourth Season of the series opened with Piper as a prison warlord.
