A train fault at Admiralty station disrupted services along the North-South Line causing delay for several passengers on Monday. SMRT took to twitter to announce that the delay affected the line's south-bound stretch from Jurong East to Ang Mo Kio stations and informed the passengers that it will take 20 minutes of additional travelling time.
Free regular bus services between Woodlands and Yishun stations were introduced to ease out the pressure on the trains. Though normal services resumed at around 8.25am, the trains travelled slower.
This fault comes just two days after an incident of power fault at Bakau station led to the evacuation of 20 commuters. Residents heard a loud "boom" following which smoke appeared from the station. Train services were disrupted along the East Loop of the Sengkang Light Rail Transit (LRT) due to the fault.
