Angelina Jolie has found love again in Jared Leto after splitting from Brad Pitt. The 41-year-old actress had filed for divorce from him on 19 September 2016 citing irreconcilable differences.
Jolie and Leto first met back in 1999 and worked together on Alexander in 2004. According to sources, the two had a brief fling before she met Pitt on the set of Mr and Mrs Smith.
According to a report in Hollywood Life, Leto regrets not commiting to Jolie at that time. A source said: "Jared and Angelina had a very casual relationship years and years ago, it was a friends with benefits situation."
"It might have turned into more but Jared was too non-committal at the time, he just wasn't ready to be with one woman, not even Angelina. Then Brad came on the scene and she fell in love and that was that. I know Jared always had regrets about letting her slip away," the insider added.
Meanwhile, a source told Star magazine that "Jared reached out to Angie after she filed divorce papers in September. The word is they spoke several times on the phone before meeting up in L.A. for dinner, and they've been seeing each other whenever they can since then."
In November 2016, Pitt, at the Los Angeles premiere of his WWII drama Allied, revealed he was grateful for fans' support and kindness after his shocking split from Jolie. He told E! News: "It's really sweet, everyone has been really kind out here. It's really nice to have all the support."
