Walt Disney announced the cast of The Lion King live action remake giving a reason to the 90s' kids to relive their childhood. Actor-filmmaker Jon Fevreau said that Donald Glover will be playing the character of Simba while Earl Jones will regain the role of the villain, Mufasa.
Donald Glover, also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, has been quite popular among the fans after his acting and singing stints. According to reports, the 33-year-old, who stars in his own TV series called Atlanta, will also be seen in the upcoming Han Solo movie.
Recently, Fevreau revealed the two roles on Twitter and the fans has been going crazy with the announcement. After the successful live action remake of The Jungle Book, fans have quite high expectations from the Lion King director. The Jungle Book was one of the most successful movies of 2016 and it was loved by people of all ages.
Although, the director is yet to announce the names of the other actors, The Lion King fans have already started making their requests to the Disney director.
Apart from The Lion King, Disney is also preparing to release Beauty and The Beast starring Emma Watson as Belle. The production house has already recreated live action remakes of iconic movies successfully, including Cinderella and Maleficent.
