The long-awaited Apple TV 4 jailbreak for tvOS 10.0-10.1 is imminent as its developer, Jonathan Levin, has recently confirmed the completion of development work on the tvOS jailbreak via Twitter. The tweet further confirms that tvOS 10.0-10.1 users are in for some great luck as these firmware versions are likely to be supported by the upcoming Apple TV 4 jailbreak.
Ian Beer's Project Zero exploits have drawn the spotlight of the jailbreak community after it was ascertained that these were the same exploits used in Luca Todesco's latest Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10.0-10.2. Furthermore, it was evident that several of these exploits were fully-compatible with tvOS 10.0-10.1 and thereby fuelling further speculations that the modified version of Yalu could indeed be ported to the Apple TV platform.
Apple TV developer nitoTV had recently thrown more light on the developmental work on tvOS, wherein he suggested that one of his fellow developers was working on the forthcoming tvOS jailbreak. Now the premonition of seeing an imminent Apple TV 4 jailbreak on tvOS has indeed come true.
Check out Jonathan Levin's recent tweet (below) that confirms the completion of development work on the new tvOS jailbreak for Apple TV 4:
Apple TV 4 owners are in for some great news, especially if they are running the older versions of tvOS 10.x firmware instead of the latest tvOS 10.1.1 update. With the upcoming tvOS jailbreak almost confirmed to support tvOS 10.0-10.1, the new tvOS 10.1.1 will be the sole exception which does not have a compatible jailbreak exploit in Yalu like the iOS 10.2.1.
Meanwhile, speculation is rife that more and more developers are now actively testing and working on the jailbreak apps and tools for tvOS jailbreak and thereby paving the way for a successful port of Cydia Substrate to tvOS 10.0-10.1. Consequently, avid jailbreak fans will no longer have to contend with just sideloading non-standard tweaks and apps.
Stay tuned for further updates on the tvOS jailbreak for Apple TV 4 as we get more clarity and information about its actual release date for the public. Apple TV owners who are running tvOS 10.0-10.1 are strongly advised to avoid any further firmware updates as we are almost certain that a new jailbreak is just around the corner.
