Galaxy S8 global release delayed by a week

Samsung's upcoming flagship 'Galaxy S8' is all set to be unveiled at the high-profile Unpacked Event on 29 March in New York City, while renowned tipster @evleaks has claimed that the flagship phone's release date will be pushed back to 28 April for some reason. It may be noted that the S8 was earlier speculated for release on 21 April and now that date has been pushed back by a week.

There is no word on the actual source of this release information and no explanation has been given for the delayed release of Galaxy S8. However, the industry experts are suggesting that Samsung seems to be exercising care and caution with its upcoming launch, following the Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.

Despite its delayed release date, the S8 launch will happen as per the official schedule on 29 March at the Samsung Unpacked Event in NYC.

As far as specifications are concerned, the S8 will launch in two variants with huge curved displays and tiny bezels, on-screen buttons, support for USB Type-C and rear mounted fingerprint sensor, and will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 835 processor chipset.

Among other leaked specifications, the S8 is likely to feature 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB memory expansion via microSD slot, 12MP Dual Pixel primary camera and 8MP front-facing camera for selfies, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.
