The first part of the two part epic ensemble movie titled Avengers: Infinity War is set to storm the theatres next year. One particular location that is being eyed upon by the Russo Brothers for the movie will no doubt make fans of the Harry Potter film series, nostalgic.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently shooting in England and one particular shooting location, eagle-eyed Harry Potter fans will know, is the location where major scenes in the eight-film Harry Potter saga were shot.

Comicbook.com noted that directors Anthony and Joe Russo had uploaded a particular photo on Facebook that was deleted later, showing a location they were scouting for the movie. It was noted that the directors have made a habit of sharing location scouting photos.

The place in question is Durham Cathedral in the city of Durham, England. The cathedral had been used in almost all the Harry Potter films as a stand-in for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. In the first two films, the location was heavily featured but gradually the production opted for sets and digital models and extensions. Hogwarts of course, was mentioned in the latest Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic beasts and Where to Find Them, which won an Oscar award.

Avengers: Infinity War will see the Avengers assemble for the third time, to battle Thanos, an intergalactic mad Titan, who Marvel.com describes as "a melancholy, brooding individual, consumed with the concept of death, sought out personal power and increased strength, endowing himself with cybernetic implants until he became more powerful than any of his brethren."

Thanos is after the Infinity Stones, hence the name of the movie. It is anybody's guess what happens if he gets to secure all the stones for himself.

Durham Cathedral has tough days ahead as the location will probably feature a battle sequence where Thanos unleashes his wrath on the likes of Iron Man and Captain America through the centuries old bricks and mortar and beautiful arches. There might even be a subtle wink to Harry Potter fans, but it's very unlikely, seeing as Warner Bros and Marvel are two separate studios.

Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Tom Holland, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bethany, Sebastian Stan, Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, and Josh Brolin as the main villain Thanos. The movie releases on May 4, 2018 in the United States.
