Amid all the rumours of Song Joong-ki having broken up with Song Hye-kyo and dating Park Bo-gum instead, the 'Descendants of the Sun' lead actors were reunited once again. Joong-ki and Hye-kyo were celebrating the first anniversary of the drama. It has also been one year since fans saw Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo together in a production.
Website Soompi reported that, although the entire cast and crew could not take part in the celebration due to other filming commitments, all those gathered had great fun. Song Hye-kyo and other cast and crew also made the reunion even more special for Song Joong-ki by celebrating the actor's recent win at the 29th Korea Producer Awards. Joong-ki had picked up the best actor award for his role as Captain Yoo Shi-jin, a.k.a. Big Boss in 'Descendants of the Sun.'
Fans and Instagram users were quite excited to see Song Hye-kyo and her co-star Song Joong-ki together in a collage of photos from the celebration that as uploaded on the Instagram profile of the actress. Their famous kisses earned 'Descendants of the Sun' the best kiss award, earlier this month. In the photos Song Hye-kyo and Song Joong-ki can be seen smiling as a crew member holds up a small cake with a burning candle on top of it, signifying the 1-year anniversary of the drama.
Interestingly, however, the two actors are seen standing apart. In various programs, events and awards ceremonies, the SongSong couple has been seen together, holding hands and smiling to each other which, coupled with their amazing chemistry on-screen in 'Descendants of the Sun,' made fans want them to become real-life partners. However, recently, in an interview with magazine, Song Hye-kyo shattered all such wishes from fans by saying that she is like an older sister to Song Joong-ki.
The fact that Song Joong-ki has been spending a lot of time with Park Bo-gum recently doesn't help either. There are many fans who think the two men could be in a relationship with each other and that Park Bo-gum may have caused a rift between the SongSong couple. However, all this is nothing but speculation. Moreover, none of the actors have officially acknowledged any of the above rumours as being true.
Park Bo-gum did say, though, "But if I was a girl, I would want to date Hyung. I wanted Song Joong Ki to be with me. It's true, this is coming from my heart." This might sound like an actual confession but it also may be the actor teasing the SongSong fans or those who ship him with Joong-ki.
However, the actors should hopefully remain good friends in real life, romance or not. Because, as has often been seen, a good friendship lasts a lifetime, a romantic relationship may not.
