Netizens are going bonkers after a video from a local forest in Aceh province of Indonesia surfaced showing a weird half human, half ogre-looking creature running, being chased by motorcyclists.
The video was uploaded on Youtube by an account, Fredography, on March 22. Since then the clip has gone viral and people are coming up with all sorts of speculations. Some are suggesting that the figure is a member of the Mante tribe - an ethnic group that is one of Aceh's urban legends.
In the 1:57-minute clip, a Banda Aceh-based motor trail community was seen touring inside a local forest. The motorcycles were following a narrow path when one of the motorcyclists fell down due to some obstruction that came in his way. As the camera came closer, the viewers can clearly see a mysterious figure, which looks like a human but is way shorter. The figure also appeared to be bald and had a stick in its hand. Seeing the motorcyclists, the creature began running. Though the bikers followed the creature with their camera, it jumped and vanished among long grasses shortly after.
Though there have not been any scientific explanation, people are engaging in debate in order to find out what the creature might be. The creature has a stinking similarity with the fictional character Golem from J. R. R. Tolkien's novel The Lord of the Rings or the character Dobby from JK Rowling's Harry Potter.
