Now you can capture Harry Potter-like moving photographs with Polaroid Swing app

The concept is to introduce and promote a new kind of photography where the subject is moving.

A start-up from Silicon Valley, The Polaroid Swing, has finally relaunched the classic brand 'Polaroid' in form of Swing app. This app allows users to take live, moving pictures, similar to what we can see in the Harry Potter movie, can be proved to be a tough competition for Instagram and Apple's Live Photos, reported iTechpost.

This comparatively new tech company aims to bring back the classic, traditional nostalgic feel that the older generations enjoyed through pictures.

Polaroid Swing wants to support a group of new generation artists who have chosen photography to be their medium of creative expression. This week, the app is launching their new artist support program, which offers more that 200 photographers equipment and exhibition space. Qualified applicants can also avail to possible commissions of their artworks supported by the company, announced Polaroid Swing.

Original Polaroid's founder Edwin Land gave significant support to the yesteryears' artists such as Warhol, Hockney, Robert Mapplethorpe and Robert Rauschenberg, helping to catapult them to stardom in the art industry, The Guardian reported.

Now, this start-up is inspired to uphold the values that Land had created in the mid-20th century, said the co-founder Tommy Stadlen, according to iTechpost.

Applicants can use the app to take pictures and submit them through social media. The best submissions will be judged by a diverse panel which will include photographer Paolo Roversi, Tate chairman, Lord Browne and the supermodel Natalia Vodianova, per Top Tech News.

Chosen Polaroid Swing artists from around the globe will then be invited to the program, where they will get a free iPhone each and be a part of a digital and physical exhibition. There will also be the possibility of brand commission work for the artists.

The whole concept is to introduce and promote a new kind of photography where the subject and other features of a photograph move, which enhances the idea of seeing the world in short moments, said iTechPost.
