Facebook is obsessed with the Story feature and here is another proof. Following the launch of the feature, which was first seen on Snapchat, later on Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger now Mark Zuckerberg has incorporated 'Story' on Facebook as well.

With the latest update users will get a new in-app Facebook Camera, which will be able to take pictures and add new effects and filters on it. Those pictures can then be shared privately with a friend or publicly on the newsfeed of the users.

And just like Snapchat, the pictures will disappear automatically after 24 hours.

However, Facebook, which now has a user base of around 1.86 billion, has denied the fact that they have taken this Story feature from Snapchat.

"Our goal here is to give people more to do on Facebook, and that's really been the main inspiration," said Connor Hayes, a Facebook product manager, reported BBC.

One of the camera effects in this new feature will be the ability to morph someone in a picture into a cartoon Minion. The latest Minion movie, Despicable Me 3, is scheduled to be out in a few months and Facebook has deals to license content from six film studios, as well as from two artists.

Facebook's design director Kristen Spilman says another visual effect on this new feature allows someone in a picture to "become a laser cat with super powers".

However, the effects will vary by location. Spilman also said that when Facebook tested the ability to add the phrase LOL, users in Ireland didn't know what it meant, as per BBC.
