Samsung has just released its highly-anticipated flagship phones (the S8 and S8+) in its Galaxy S line-up to rival the latest flagship devices from Apple. In other words, the Galaxy S8 and S8+ will directly compete with its iPhone counterparts, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

At 6.2in, the Galaxy S8+ sports the largest display among its competitors including the Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. The S8 has a slightly smaller 5.8in Infinity Super AMOLED display.
Both the S8 and S8+ come with the same display resolution of 2960X1440 pixels. However, the former has a superior pixel density of 570ppi while the latter has a slightly reduced pixel density of 529ppi due to its bigger screen size.
In contrast, the iPhone 7 ships with a 4.7in (750x1334 pixels) Retina Display, while the iPhone 7 Plus flaunts a full HD (1080x1920 pixels) 5.5in Retina Display.

The Galaxy S8 is 17 grams heavier than the iPhone 7 (138g) weighing in at 155g. The S8 is also taller (148.8mm) as well as wider (68.1mm) than Apple's iPhone 7.
In contrast, the S8+ is lighter than iPhone 7 Plus by 15 grams. However, both the S8+ and iPhone 7 are almost of equal length while the latter is slightly wider than the former.
Coming to thickness, the S8+ is the thickest of all at 8.1mm while the S8 measures around 8mm in thickness. The iPhone 7 is 7.1mm thick while the 7 Plus is 0.2mm thicker than its younger sibling at 7.3mm.
Despite sporting similar dimensions as the iPhone 7 Plus, the S8+ incorporates a bigger 6.2in display inside its body frame in comparison to the iPhone which has a smaller 5.8in display.

Depending on the region where they are being sold, both the S8 and S8+ will be offered in two different processor variants: Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 or Exynos 8895 chipset.
Meanwhile, both the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets will be powered by Apple's A10 processor chipset.

Both the S8 and S8+ come with 4GB of RAM. On the other hand, the iPhone 7 features 2GB of RAM while iPhone 7 Plus ships with 3GB of RAM.

Both the S8 variants ship with 64GB of storage memory with microSD expansion support up to 256GB. The flagship iPhones will be available in different storage models starting at 32GB and going up to 256GB.
