An American magazine has come up with claims that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes are on the verge of split. The celebrity gossip website claimed that the two are fighting after Mendes did not join the 36-year-old actor to the Academy Awards 2017, who was nominated for Best Actor for his role in the musical film, La La Land.
An alleged source told OK! magazine: "In public he has to say nice things about her. Privately though, he says that she is being selfish."
"He's mad she didn't want to support him for his big Oscars night, but somehow it's a priority for her to support a retail store? He was yelling, 'What the f--k kind of priorities are those?' If it wasn't for the kids, I don't think they would have any kind of relationship right now," the insider added.
"Some in their circle are convinced she's already spoken to a lawyer... Ryan has tried hard to make things work. He's been nothing but supportive, but maybe they just weren't meant to be," the source revealed.
Meanwhile, Mendes had revealed why she did not accompany Gosling to the Oscars 2017 held at the the Dolby Theatre on 26 February in Hollywood. During an interview with Shape magazine, the 43-year-old actress said she was at home with their two young daughters during the actor's big night. She said: "What people don't know about me is that I love being home. Instead of hitting the red carpet, I'd rather be with our girls."
On the other side, Gosling paid tribute to Mendes as he collected his Golden Globe award 2017 for the Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy prize for his performance in La La Land. He said: "I just would like to try and thank one person properly, and say that while I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one the best experiences I've ever had on a film, my lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer."
He continued: "If she hadn't taken all that on so that I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today. Sweetheart, thank you."
