Time-travel drama Tunnel climbs up in ratings

The sixth episode that aired on April 9 received a national average of 4 percent in viewership ratings and a highest recorded rating of 4.8 percent.

The weekend drama "Tunnel" is attracting its viewers with interesting storyline and their rising viewership ratings are a proof of that.

According to Nielsen Korea, as cited by Soompi the sixth episode that aired on April 9 received a national average of 4 percent in viewership ratings and a highest recorded rating of 4.8 percent. The fifth episode of the drama had a national average of 3.5 percent.

The new crime show's latest episode showed detectives Park Kwang Ho (played by Choi Jin Hyuk) and Kim Sun Jae (played by Yoon Hyun Min) starting an investigation into a case of identity theft. They later found out that there are six more people who have went through similar types of cases. The suspect was arrested after proper examination of the related incidents and by trying to find out the connection between them. The suspect then confessed of committing all the crimes out of sheer jealousy.The episode ended with Kim Sun Jae being suspicious of Park Kwang Ho's actual identity.

The viewers are in love it as the idea of time-travel which has been previously used in the dramas and but this is very original.

Previously, Yonhap reported, Director Shin Yong-hwi said at a media event, "The story deals with a serial murder case, but we tried to infuse a sense of humanism in the story as opposed to the grotesque side of a crime show."
