Moto Z Play users are in for some exciting news as Motorola has unofficially confirmed the arrival of Android 7.1.1 update for the handset soon. The handset is expected to join the elite group of Pixel and Nexus devices as the Z Play will soon be upgraded from its current firmware, the Android 7.0 Nougat.
The Z play was launched just a year ago with Android Marshmallow on board and it got the Android 7.0 in January. So, the Z Play users would be thrilled with the prospect of experiencing the latest build of Nougat update at such short notice.
The official announcement for the new Nougat update is still pending. However, Motorola has informally confirmed via chat to the senior member of the XDA Developers forum that the Z Play would indeed receive the Android 7.1.1 update.
The screenshot of the entire chat conversation was later uploaded on the forum thread by the same person who had received the information from some company representative. However, there is still no word on the probable release timeline for the next Nougat update on the handset.
The Z Play is priced at ¥2999 for the 64GB model in China after a recent price cut of ¥300.
