After Fantastic Beasts, the fans are eagerly waiting for the second instalment of the movie where Jude Law is to play a young Albus Dumbledore- the beloved Hogwarts School headmaster of the Harry Potter series. This is set some 70 years before Harry Potter came to Hogwarts.
According to inquisitr, the new reports claim that Jude Law's Dumbledore could be openly gay in Fantastic Beasts 2. In fact, the creator of the Harry Potter series mentioned about a decade ago that she always thought of Dumbledore as gay. There, she also talked about Dumbledore's relationship with Gellert Grindelwald.
J.K. Rowling reportedly mentioned that Dumbledore was "very drawn" to the charming Grindelwald. However, their love story ended in a "great tragedy" as Dumbledore that the brilliant wizard is more interested in the Dark Arts.
In the first movie of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, the beloved headmaster did not appear at all but in the upcoming sequel young Dumbledore is all set to make a grand entrance and on the other hand his alleged lover Gellert Grindelwald is to be played by Johnny Depp.
The friends turned rival love story is anticipated in the upcoming sequel as it is set years before the Harry Potter series. It may also focus a little bit on the short-lived love story of Dumbledore with the dark wizard.
Neither J.K. Rowling nor director David Yates confirm anything about the gay romance in the sequel involving Dumbledore and Grindelwald but did mention that it would have a romantic element and will be predominantly be set in Paris.
According to inquisitr, David Yates in an interview said, "Grindelwald is from Europe and it feels natural to take it to — and we've never been to Europe before. And Paris thematically, the second movie has a kind of romantic element about it. And if you're gonna have a romantic element, it seems absolutely right to set a movie in Paris. So that's one of the reasons."
The filming of Fantastic Beasts 2 is scheduled to begin in August, and it is scheduled to release on November 16, 2018.
