Freshly leaked images of the Tenth Anniversary iPhone aka 'iPhone X' have surfaced online through the recent technical schematics published by iFanr in their latest mock-ups. Based on the industry-hyped edge-to-edge display concept, the iPhone X aka OLED iPhone 8 will reportedly feature Full Vision Display spread across the handset's 4.7in bezel-less body.
As iFanr reports, some of these technical renderings shared by the publication clearly point out that an iPhone model with 'Full Vision Display' could be one of the ten prototypes that are currently being tested by Apple.
Based on the renderings, it is believed that several key components including the sensors, FaceTime camera, Home button, Touch ID and others are being integrated into the display assembly, with just a narrow opening within the OLED display at the top of the embedded earpiece.
Galaxy S8's alluring Infinity Display seems to be the latest buzz in the smartphone industry while Apple reconsiders the opportunity to overhaul its ageing Retina display with the highly-anticipated edge-to-edge OLED technology.
Apple has traditionally named its display technology after the maximum-resolution capability of its screen. For instance, the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus got their Retina HD tag owing to their support for full HD resolution (1080x1920 pixels).
If the iPhone maker sticks to its traditional naming convention, the iPhone8's display could be called 'Super Retina HD' or 'Ultra Retina HD' screen or maybe something based on its upcoming OLED technology.
