Nintendo has just rolled out Super Mario Run v2.1 with a bunch of new perks, Game Center achievements, new buildings and the ability to use your customised Miitomo character as your in-game player icon. Bullet Bill Statue, Bob-omb Statue and 8-bit Bowser Statue have been added as new buildings along with a plethora of feature enhancements into the game.
It must be noted that some of these new buildings will require the use of colour toads which are exclusive to the full or paid version of the game. On the contrary, Peach's Tent or 8-bit Bowser Statue can be unlocked by playing Toad Rally, without having to upgrade to the full version.
You can train a maximum of 99,999 toads in your kingdom, after installing the v2.1 update on your console. Invite and join with your friends online, using your registered Nintendo account and dress up your character with various Miitomo items to suit your taste or gameplay style.
Here are a few steps to help you link your Miitomo character with your Nintendo account:
- Go to the app's account management section and choose the button named 'Use my Miitomo Mii on my Nintendo account' at the bottom of the screen. Now your Miitomo will be physically linked to your Nintendo account.
- Launch Super Mario Run, go to the Link Menu and follow the onscreen instructions to complete setting up your Nintendo account. You can now select your favourite Mii character from the Settings menu that will be displayed as your player icon.
