Home United take on Geylang International in their sixth match of 2017 S.League season at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday.
The Protectors, who are unbeaten in the tournament so far, will look to get back to winning ways as they agonisingly squandered an opportunity to collect three points during their 2-2 draw against Warriors FC on 22 April.
On the other hand, Geylang are heading into the match on the back of winning their last league game on 20 April against Brunei DPMM at home.
Fourth-placed Home, who are five points adrift of leaders Albirex Niigata, will look to close the gap with a win at home tomorrow. With Stipe Plazibat in red-hot form - 16 goals from 11 games in all competitions - and Faris Ramli commanding the midfield, Aidil Sharin's men are well-placed to take the game to their opponents.
However, there are concerns with their defence that has failed to make full use of early leads twice in the last three league games. In their games against Albirex and Warriors, the Protectors were leading 2-0 only to concede late goals and lose two points. Injuries to goalkeeper Hassan Sunny and centre-back Afiq Yunos will also put more pressure on young Irfan Fandi, who has been impressive at the back so far.
On the other hand, Geylang will be determined not to lose the winning momentum they have garnered by collecting three points in their last two league games. The onus will be on the Eagles backline led by Anders Aplin to fend away Plazibat threat. Viktor Coto's form in the front should also give Hasrin Jailani and his men enough confidence to put up a stiff fight on the road against the in-form Home tomorrow.
